Be sure to look at the Timed Entry Permit Page before you travel to RMNP. We don't recommend doing this trip the day of the wedding (Sunday) unless you're going to start very early, because it's not something you want to rush through and the drive times can vary, meaning you could easily be late to the wedding.

We love going up to Rocky Mountain National Park. We highly recommend renting a car, even if it's just for the day, to go up to the park if the weather is nice. You'll see wildlife, and some of the most spectacular views that you can possibly see in the country. The price is worth it.

We usually do the Trail Ridge Rd. route up to the Alpine Visitor Center via Estes Park. You'll start at the Estes Park Visitor Center (you may want to use the restroom before you enter the park, but there are also plenty in the park). Just take the route up to the Alpine Travel Center and then head back down. It's amazing. Estes Park and the drive to Estes Park alone is worth the trip!

If you book a time slot ahead of time you can also go to Bear Lake which is incredibly peaceful and serene.
